PHARMA SALES & MARKETING MEETING IN MARRAKECH
SUMMARY
Our client is a global pharma business, and they were organising a 4 day team meeting for their global sales & marketing team (46 people), from 9 different countries. The aims of their meeting included bringing together their global sales & marketing team, and helping them bond/engage with each other – through meetings & experiences. Our clients requirements included the programme, destination, hotel, transport, meeting room, team-bonding activities, restaurants & dinner, and a team building experience. Our client asked for our help – as they wanted to ensure everything was designed carefully, planned thoroughly, and delivered to perfection – for a successful team meeting. Importantly, to help the team bond and spend quality & enjoyable time together, our client wanted creative & memorable experiences, that would be good for everyone.
APPROACH
Considering our client wanted a 4 day pharma meeting in Marrakech, and the global sales & marketing team were flying in from 9 different countries, we worked with our client to carefully select 3 hotel options that were located in the best part of Marrakech, and suitable for their pharma business meetings. Important considerations in the planning process included expectations, quality, creativity, local suppliers, nationalities, cultures, food preferences, hotels, meeting rooms, transport, activities, experiences, safety, insurances, and the planning and execution of the 4 day programme. In addition to this, our client naturally expected the programme to be designed and planned to create enjoyable experiences for the entire global team, every day, hour by hour, without any problems – to help them bond.
As a global business, we worked with our pharma client (based in Marseille), and our local Marrakech suppliers (hotels, restaurants, transport and activities) – to carefully plan everything in detail, focusing on creativity and quality. Planning details included people’s nationalities, culture, dietary requirements, food, drinks, programme timings, activities and detailed local supplier selection & management. Whilst in Marrakech, we managed and controlled all aspects of the programme for our client – helping them to relax and manage their team.
RESULTS
In September 2019, 46 people from the global sales & marketing team flew into Marrakech, and enjoyed a 4 day pharma meeting, focusing on business meetings (for strategy and business planning), and global team-bonding activities (for engagement, communications and team-work). Our client stayed in the Radisson in Gueliz (for location, quality, service, meeting rooms, price), and enjoyed a variety of local Marrakech experiences, carefully planned and managed to perfection. One of the rooftop restaurants we organised for them was voted ‘best rooftop restaurant’ in Marrakech, which we carefully selected for the group size, and the restaurants reputation, food, service and overall experience. Transport providers were also key to the overall experience, as we had to transport the large group of 46 people efficiently into the deep & complex heart of the Medina, and also transport them 1 hours drive outside of Marrakech to the Agafay Desert – so a high quality transport supplier was chosen. One of the team-bonding exercises included a drive into the Agafay Desert, for a peaceful and relaxing camel trek into the heart of the Agafay desert – followed by a private dining ‘desert camp’ experience, enjoying Berber food, cooked by local Berber families.
