HAVAS LYNX – LX ACADEMY AWARDS
Our client, Havas Lynx, has had an amazing year of achievements, including winning Healthcare Agency of the Year at Cannes Lions. Their LX Academy is their annual L&D programme, which recognises Havas Lynx’s employees under several categories. Naturally, with 2018 so far being such a big year for Havas Lynx, this year’s celebration had to be truly memorable.
With the lion as a symbol of this year’s achievements and considering how Havas Lynx always champions tech and creativity in everything that they do, we knew we had to put our thinking caps on and come up with a concept that would amaze everyone. The client was keen to bring a bit of Cannes to Manchester to celebrate with the whole company everything achieved this year.
With this in mind, we suggested the use of projection mapping to help immerse guests and create visual impact, featuring 2 giant, geometric lion heads on either side of the stage, that would come to life as each award was announced. This would also be complemented by carefully choreographed sound and lighting that would bring the glamour of Cannes to Manchester and make the awards ceremony one to remember. For a period of 3 months, we worked closely with the client to design the look and feel of the set, the lion head structures, animation, presentation content, sound, lighting, logistics, tests, timescales and planned delivery.
The evening was a true joy to be a part of. The build of the set and set up of the AV was delivered by our team on schedule and allowed us to review transitions of all projection mapping films on site and have a technical rehearsal with the client before the event. The evening was seamlessly delivered and included 24 different lots of animation and projection mapping, several and carefully cued announcements and introductions to stage, powerpoint presentations, a guest presenter in a bathtub and a spectacular opening film.
It’s wonderful to see when companies value their employees – this event was a true celebration of teamwork.
